GDG DA-IICT:This is ourgroup of enthusiastic developers from DA-IICT, India and open to all those who are interested in technological innovations. We meet every week to work on innovative projects and discuss new technologies. We also organise events, hackathons, seminars, workshops that help the community to widen their technical horizon.
Right from our inception in late 2012, we have tried and worked for increasing technological awareness in DA-IICT and thus taking the college to a new level in the horizons of technical education all over India.
Throughout this academic year of 2012-2013, we organised the following events which took DA-IICT's name to the outside world and helped students successfully ~~
- Getting started with Google Technologies: The event was focussed on introducing audience comprising students from DA-IICT, NIRMA, GTU and many other colleges from Ahemedabad and adjoing areas with Google technologies like GWT,Android,HTML5 etc. We were proud to be trending at number 2 all over India on Twitter with the tag of #gdgdaiict on the day of the event ! Local Media such as Ahemedabad Mirror and Dainik Bhaskar covered the event extensively.
- FOSS Session: This session was to give DA-IICT students an exposure for open-source free softwares. It was also to motivate them for GSOC. We all know about DA-IICT supremacy in India in Google Summer of Code 2012.
- HTML5 Hands-on Session: A successful and full of content workshop covering HTML5 by renowned speaker Ritesh Ambastha. The event had a huge participation from all over the cities of Ahemedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Vadodra. Local media covered the event extensively.
- KDE Meetup 2013 , DA-IICT: One of the largest events, not only of GDG DA-IICT but also which DA-IICT ever conducted. Few highlights which redefined DA-IICT's glory through this two day event~~~~
- Largest open-source conference/meetup in Gujarat
- Largest meetup of KDE contributors in India since conf.kde.in in 2011
- Top KDE Developers as speakers in the event lauding DA-IICT for its active involvement in open-source software developement was indeed a compliment for the whole college.
- Coverage of the event at the international level with the name of DA-IICT through IRC's, mailing list, community websites etc.
- A successfull event in terms of participation, feedback and contribution in the KDE community even after the event.
- Summer Opportunities: This was the most recent event conducted by us to help first year students gain an insight of summer opportunities available for them in the world of technology, electronics, coding, ICT etc. Through this we hope that juniors do some good constructive work and take DA-IICT to great heights in coming time.
With this, we promise to come back even better in the next academic year !
